Meet the Hosts
In Da Hood (She/Her)
Born and raised in Pullman, WA, In Da Hood has been participating in roller derby for the past five years. Starting out as a junior skater in 2014, then quickly progressing to Captain of the team, she has been obsessed with the sport since she put her skates on. After getting her wheels under control, she began learning to officiate. She has officiated nearly 50 games since becoming 18 and has also participated in numerous bouts and tournaments as a skater for the Palouse River Rollers. Her most notable achievement being NSOing for MRDA championships in 2019. For the past year she has been the bout coordinator for her league and helped plan for the virtual Zebra Love event!
Duncan (They/Them/She/Her)
Duncan learned to skate at age 3 and has been skating for 33 years on ice skates, rollerblades and quads. They began as a referee in Auckland, New Zealand in 2009 and have refereed for 12 years. They moved to Portland, Oregon in 2014 and became a referee of the Rose City Rollers and achieved Level 3 WFTDA certification. They have worked 600+ games (including both D2 & D1 playoffs in 2016, 2017 & 2019, B-Team Champs 2018, MRDA Champs 2018 and WFTDA Champs in 2018,) and also worked the 2014 B’n’T World Cup. Most recently they started playing for a Rose City home team and before Covid, tried out and made the Rose City travel team!
Montana Maulher (She/Her)
Originally from Montana (hence the name) Montana Maulher started NSOing in Spring 2016 while attending Graduate School in Nebraska. Maulher is a WFTDA Certified Level 3 official and is one of a few who were expedited from non-certified straight to level 3 when she applied for level 1. Her favorite NSO position is PLT, and has planned a feeewwwwww tournaments the past few years. Last year she planned three back-to-back-to-back weekends inThin Air Throwdown, Lady Trample and Scald Eagles wedding bout, and B-Team Champs. She was affiliated with Denver until recently, you may have seen her work on #derbytwitter as sassy league account, but now she is an Independent Official.
Whiskey Smash (She/Her)
Also known as Whisk or Whisker, Whiskey Smash wants to do as much of anything related to roller derby as possible at all times! When not skating with the Palouse River Rollers, you can find her officiating on and off skates, rolling around at the skatepark, or camping with her puppy. She is extremely excited to have the opportunity to share her love for this amazing sport and community with you!
Loco MOtive (He/Him)
Loco MOtive is a derby enthusiast who acts as an NSO, GTO, and bench coach. He is based in Eastern Washington, is an independent official, and an affiliate member of the Palouse River Rollers. He has experience with both WFTDA and MRDA post season play, as well as having officiated for 9 of the top 10 teams in the world! Loco is a fan of finding your own way to meet the standards of being an official, and is interested in always improving.
